Client Challenge

Our client, a leading Indian private equity fund, aimed to standardise and digitise their Business Management (BM) process. The goal was to enhance process efficiency by automating low-value activities and to improve effectiveness by creating a single source of information for portfolio companies, thus ensuring transparency and visibility into their performance.

Our Approach

UC adopted a comprehensive approach to develop content for digitising business management:

  1. Business Management Framework Development:
    • Finalised the framework around key areas: Customer, Operations, Market, ESG, Tech, Finance, and People.
    • Developed detailed content for each section, including parameters, inputs, and capture methodologies.
  2. Content Structuring:
    • Defined the frequency for updating each section.
    • Created and standardised templates, including filled examples where relevant.
    • Inventoried sources of information and identified vendors for each section.
  3. Pilot Implementation:
    • Conducted a pilot with one portfolio company, engaging relevant stakeholders from both the client and the portfolio company.
    • Collected feedback and fine-tuned the content and reference materials based on the pilot results.
